Upes is out here in the Bidholi area, just past Prem Nagar. You have to take the winding road through the hills to get to Energy Acres. It’s a pretty big spot. We’ve been here for quite some time now, watching the campus grow from just a few buildings to what it is today. People come from all over to stay in the hostels and study here. The weather can get a bit unpredictable, especially during the monsoons when everything turns really green and the rain hits the roof hard. It’s quiet mostly, except when classes are changing and students are moving between buildings. We spend a lot of time just keeping things running. Some of us live nearby and walk in, while others take the bus from the city every morning. It’s a lot of work maintaining the grounds because of the size and the slopes. We see students rushing to their labs or sitting under the trees with their laptops. There’s a lot of activity in the workshops too. You can hear the machines sometimes if you’re walking nearby. It’s not like a regular office job because the energy is different with so many young people around. We mostly focus on making sure the facilities are ready for whatever the day brings. It’s a long day sometimes, but the views of the hills make it okay. We’ve seen many batches come and go. Each year feels the same but also a bit different. We just keep doing our work.
