The Wok

The Wok is located at 48 GMS Road in Dehradun City. We are right above the Axis Bank in the Ballupur area. It is a busy part of town and there is always a lot of traffic on the road outside. Our place is not very big, just a simple restaurant where we cook every day. You have to walk up some stairs to get to us since the bank is on the ground floor. We get a lot of people from the nearby offices coming in for lunch. They are usually in a hurry, so we try to get their food out as fast as we can. It gets a bit hot in the kitchen when all the burners are going, but we are used to it by now. The staff is just a few of us who have worked together for years. We know most of the people who live around Ballupur and they stop by quite often. Sometimes we do more takeout than sit-down meals, especially in the evenings when people are heading home from work. The phone rings a lot and we just write the orders down on paper and get to work. We don't have any fancy decorations, just some tables and chairs and the smell of the food cooking. It is a practical business for us. We just keep our heads down and focus on the cooking. It is just a regular local spot for a quick meal when you are in Dehradun.
