Shri Hari Vashnoi Restaurant

Kanwali Road in Dehradun is always packed. We are right opposite A C Jain Hospital. A lot of people come in after visiting relatives there. It is a stressful place to be, so we just try to have hot food ready. Shri Hari Vashnoi Restaurant is quite small. We have some tables and chairs that have been here for years. The walls might need a bit of paint soon. We get the morning crowd looking for tea and the evening crowd who just want to go home. Living and working in Dehradun City means dealing with the traffic and the weather changes. When it rains, the road outside gets messy. We spend a lot of time wiping down the front counter. It’s just me and a couple of others helping out. We don’t do anything special, just the same dishes every day. It’s hard work being on your feet all day long. Sometimes we run out of things if the market is closed or the delivery is late. That’s just how it goes with a small business like this. Most of our customers know us by name now. They don't expect anything flashy. They just want a place to sit for twenty minutes and eat. We keep the water cold and the food hot. That is about it for us here on Kanwali Road. We just keep going one day at a time.
