Shivanta Restaurant

Shivanta Restaurant is situated on Badrinath Road in the Tapovan area of Rishikesh. We are pretty close to Laxman Jhulla, so we see a lot of travelers and people visiting the temples. Living and working in Rishikesh is different from other places because of the river and the mountains, but for us, it is still just about running a business. We spend a lot of time cleaning the floors and prepping vegetables. The road outside can get very dusty and loud with all the traffic heading up the mountains. We have a basic dining area where people can sit down and take a break from their walk. It is not a luxury place, just a regular restaurant where you can get a meal. The staff here mostly lives nearby, so we are used to the rhythm of the town and the seasons. When it rains, things slow down and we spend time catching up on repairs. When it is tourist season, we are on our feet all day long. We do not have a fancy philosophy about food. We just cook what we know and try to keep the place tidy. It is a lot of work to keep a restaurant going on Badrinath Road, but we have been doing it for a while now. We are just part of the scenery here in Tapovan. It is busy and loud sometimes, but we like the energy of the people passing through.
