Rink Pavilion Restaurant

Our restaurant is part of the Rink Pavilion Hotel up here in Mussoorie. We are located on Camels Bank Road, which is just off the main Mall Road. It can get very crowded during the summer months when everyone comes up from the plains to escape the heat. We’ve been here long enough to remember when it was much quieter. The building itself is quite old and has that classic hill station feel with lots of wood and high ceilings. We don't have a big team of people. It’s just a few of us who handle the cooking and the serving. We spend our mornings getting the kitchen ready and looking out at the mountains if the mist isn't too thick. Sometimes the monkeys on the roof make a lot of noise, but that’s just life in Mussoorie. We don’t do anything too fancy. We just serve hot food to people who are usually tired from walking up and down the hills. The Mall Road area is full of energy, but Camels Bank Road is a little bit more relaxed. We like being in this spot. There’s no corporate manual here. We just learn as we go and try to be helpful. If a lightbulb goes out or a chair gets wobbly, we just fix it ourselves. It’s a simple way of doing things, but it works for us and the people who visit. Sometimes the winter snow blocks the road, but we stay open.
