Rawat Daba

Rawat Daba is situated in Sudhawala on Chakrata Road. We are quite easy to find because we are near the Central Jail in Dehradun City. It is a busy area with a lot of movement, especially with people going toward the main city or heading out. The zip code here is 248001. Our setup is what you would expect from a local dhaba. We have heavy pots in the back and simple benches for people to sit on. It is not the kind of place where you find fancy decorations. Instead, you just see us working near the heat and moving plates around. The sound of the traffic on Chakrata Road is something we have gotten used to over the years. We start early to get everything ready before the first crowd arrives. Being near the jail means there is a lot of police movement and visitors in the area too. We see a mix of students, truck drivers, and families. Sometimes the weather in Dehradun gets a bit rainy, and people crowd inside to stay dry while they eat. We just keep doing what we do, serving meals and making sure there is enough for everyone. It is a lot of manual labor, cleaning up and cooking, but that is how a small business runs. We stay open until the evening when things finally quiet down on the road outside our door. There is always someone hungry passing through Sudhawala.
