Nazar Restaurant

I am writing this from our spot at Nazar Restaurant on the first floor of Star Tower. We are right on EC Road here in Dehradun City. It is a busy street, especially with Marshall School being so close by. You can hear the kids when they get out of class in the afternoon. We have number thirty-eight on the door, but most people just look for the tower itself. The stairs are a bit narrow, and I have been meaning to fix the flickering light in the hallway for a week now. My cousin and I started this place because we wanted to cook for the neighborhood. It is not a big corporate chain or anything like that. Just a few tables and a kitchen that stays pretty warm all day. We spend most of our mornings getting the spices ready and making sure the vegetables are fresh. Sometimes the delivery truck is late because of the traffic on the main road, which can be a bit of a headache. We do not have fancy menus with glossy pictures. Just simple food written on a chalkboard. Some of the chairs have scratches on them from years of use, but they are sturdy enough for a meal. We mostly see the same people every day, like the shopkeepers from downstairs and some teachers. It gets a bit loud when the lunch rush starts, but that is just how it is. We try our best to keep things moving.
