Mitra Da Punjabi Dhaba

We have our dhaba on Haridwar Road in Dehradun City, specifically in the Jeewanwala area near Majri Grant. It is a classic roadside spot. We have been here for a while now, serving people who are driving through or locals who live around Dehradun. It is not a polished restaurant with air conditioning. It is a dhaba, with the tandoor going and the smell of smoke in the air. We spend a lot of time outside by the ovens. The road is always busy with trucks and cars going back and forth to Haridwar. It can be quite dusty and loud, but that is just the environment of a Punjabi dhaba on the highway. We don't have a big menu with a hundred items. We just stick to what we know how to cook well. My hands are always covered in flour or soot from the fire. We don't have a marketing team or anything like that. If people like the food, they come back, and if they don't, they don't. That is how it works for us. It is a long day, starting early and closing late at night when the last trucks pass by. We just try to keep the dal hot and the rotis fresh. It is a simple life, and we are just glad to have our spot on the road for anyone who is hungry.
