Lalten and Bamboos Bar and Restaurant

Our place, Lalten and Bamboos Bar and Restaurant, is over at Tailpur chowk on the Shimla Byepass road. It’s a bit of a different spot for Dehradun City. We used a lot of bamboo in the building and tried to make it feel a bit more relaxed than the usual concrete places around here. We’ve got a bar and we serve food too. It’s 248001, so we get a mix of local folks and people just traveling through the mountains. The name comes from the old lanterns we have hanging around. It’s not a high-end lounge or anything like that. It’s just a place to hang out, have a drink, and eat something. Sometimes the music is a bit loud, but people seem to enjoy the vibe. We have some staff who have been with us since the day we opened. The kitchen can be a bit slow when we’re completely packed on the weekends, but we try our best to keep up. We don't have a big corporate office or a marketing department. We just put out a sign and let people come in. The bamboo needs a lot of upkeep because of the weather in Dehradun, so you might see us fixing things or painting here and there. It’s a simple setup. We like the vibe here at Tailpur chowk. If you want a place that isn't too stiff, that's what we are.
