Kumar Foods Restaurant

Our place is right on Rajpur Road, sitting pretty much opposite the MDDA parking. If you know Dehradun, you know how busy this stretch can get with all the cars and people heading up the hill. We opened up here at 15 B a while ago. It’s a straightforward restaurant with tables that have seen a lot of use over the years. We start the kitchen early, getting the stoves going and chopping whatever we need for the day. You can usually hear the clatter of plates from the street if the door is open. It’s a bit of a squeeze when the lunch crowd comes in, especially since we are right in the middle of town. We don't have any fancy decor or those big menus with pictures. We just serve what we know how to make. The staff is mostly the same people who started with us. Sometimes the power goes out or a delivery is late, but we manage. People stop by after parking their cars across the street, looking for something quick before they go about their business. It’s a lot of routine—cleaning, cooking, and serving. The mountain air is nice in the evenings when the traffic dies down a bit. We like it here on Rajpur Road, even with all the noise. It feels like we are right in the heart of everything happening in the city every single day we are open. It is a good spot to sit for a while.
