Kasmanda Palace A Welcomheritage Hotel

Mall Road is where we spend our days. Kasmanda Palace has been here a long time, sitting on the hill. The building shows its age in some spots, but that is just how it is. We wake up early to get things ready for the guests. The air up here in Mussoorie is different than the plains. You can see the mist coming through the trees in the morning. Our staff mostly lives nearby, so they walk up the path to get to work. The windows are old and sometimes they rattle when the wind picks up. We spend a lot of time cleaning the floors and making sure the gardens don't get too wild. It’s a lot of work keeping an old place like this going. Guests come and go, some stay for a day and others for a week. We see the same faces every season. The Mall Road stays busy until late at night, and we can hear the noise from down there. We don't have fancy speeches here. We just make sure the rooms are tidy and the food is hot. Sometimes the power goes out, which is common in the hills. We keep the lamps ready. It is a quiet life for the most part, even with the tourists walking around outside the gates. We just keep doing what we do every day without much fuss.
