IL Pomodoro

IL Pomodoro is located on Laxman Jhula Road in Rishikesh. We are pretty close to the bridge itself, so we get a lot of people walking by who are visiting the area or just coming back from the river. It’s a very different vibe here compared to the busier parts of the city. You see a lot of travelers from all over the world sitting at our tables. We serve things like pizza and pasta, which seems to be what people want after a day of walking around. The kitchen is small, but we manage to keep up with the orders. Sometimes we run out of certain ingredients if the supply truck is late coming up the road, but we just tell people how it is. We try to keep the atmosphere relaxed because that’s what Rishikesh is about. It’s not a polished, high-end Italian place; it’s just a spot where you can get a decent meal while looking out at the street. The noise from the bikes on Laxman Jhula Road is always there in the background. We’ve got a few people working here who have been with us for a long time. We just take things one day at a time, making sure the oven is hot and the dough is ready. It’s a simple life running a food place by the river. We don't have fancy uniforms or a wine list, just food and a place to sit.
