Mom Ice Creams

Mom Ice Creams is located at 182 Mount Poonamalle High Rd. We are right by the Theru Veedhi Amman Koil Streets in Porur. It’s a very busy stretch of road, so there is always a lot of traffic and people walking by. Our shop isn't very large, but we make the most of the space we have. We get a lot of people stopping in while they are waiting for the bus or just walking home from the temple. It’s nice to see the same faces every day. We don't really have a big corporate story to tell. We just started this place because we liked the idea of having a shop in Porur. Some days the heat coming off the pavement is almost too much, but it’s always cool inside once you step through the door. We spend a lot of time cleaning the glass and making sure the bins are full. Sometimes we try out new things just to see if the local kids like them, but mostly we stick to what people know. It gets pretty loud with all the horns honking on Mount Poonamalle High Rd, but you stop hearing it after an hour or so. We are just a small part of this neighborhood, tucked in between the other shops. We don't do anything fancy, we just stay open late enough for the after-dinner crowd to get their fix.
