Janani'S Arun Ice Cream

If you find yourself in Mogappair West, you might see us on Kambar Salai. We are at 2/10, which is a small spot but it works for what we need. We sell the Arun brand stuff and it keeps us busy enough throughout the week. The neighborhood is mostly families, so we get a lot of parents bringing their kids by in the evening after dinner. The street gets a bit dark at night but our shop light stays on until we close up. We have a few benches outside but mostly people just stand around and eat their ice cream. It isn't a huge operation by any means. It is basically me and one other person most of the time. We have to keep a close eye on the stock because some flavors sell out way faster than others and people get disappointed. Sometimes the delivery driver forgets something and we have to wait another day for the next truck. That’s just how it goes in this business. We try to keep the place looking okay, but we aren't decorators or anything. It is just a functional shop for people who want something cold on a hot day. Mogappair is a good area and we have been here for a while now. We know most of the people who live in the nearby flats. They stop to chat for a minute while we get their change ready. It’s a nice way to spend the day.
