Vaishno Budda Dhaba

We have our dhaba on Majitha Road in the Tungwalla area of Majitha, Amritsar. We are easy to find because we are right near the Government School and the Pong Wala Chowk. Vaishno Budda Dhaba is the kind of place where people stop by when they are traveling along the road or coming from the school. It is an old-fashioned setup with simple benches and a lot of open air. Amritsar is known for its food, and we just do our part by serving what we know. The kitchen is right there for everyone to see, with the fire going and the smoke rising up. We get a lot of dust from the road, so we are constantly wiping down the tables and the counters. It is a noisy spot with trucks and tractors passing by all day long. We don't have a printed menu or any fancy lights. We just tell people what we have cooked for the day. Most of the time it is just dal, vegetables, and fresh rotis. The staff is mostly family or people from the local village. We start early to get the fire ready and the vegetables chopped. It is hard work staying on your feet all day, especially when the sun is hitting the road outside. We don't try to be anything other than a basic roadside dhaba where you can get a hot meal.
