If you find yourself on Shivala Road in Amritsar, you’ll see us at Shop Number 2. We are very close to the Shivala Mandir, which is a big landmark around here that everyone uses for directions. Being a dhaba, we don't put on any airs or pretend to be fancy. It’s just a place to get some real food that fills you up after a long day of work. The kitchen is always going, and there's usually a bit of smoke and the strong smell of spices in the air. The 143001 area is a good place to be, and we like the people who live and work around the temple. We have some wooden benches and tables that have seen a lot of use over the years, and they might have a few scratches here and there. It’s not the quietest place, but it’s real and honest. We don't have a big menu with fancy names, just the stuff people like to eat every day. Sometimes we run out of things if the crowd is bigger than we expected, but that’s just how it goes with fresh food. We do our own cleaning and cooking, so you might see us scrubbing down the counters or carrying heavy bags of flour through the front door. It’s hard work, but we’ve been doing it a while and we're used to the pace. People know they can come here and just be themselves without any fuss.
