Sanhotra

Being right by the Amritsar Bus Stand means it never gets quiet. We are on GT Road, and the noise of the horns is just part of our day. Sanhotra has been here for a bit. Near Pingalwara, you see all kinds of people walking past. Some are heading to the bus, others are just local workers. The 143001 area is always moving. I get here early to start the day before the main rush starts. The air smells like diesel and street food. It’s not a quiet life. Our spot isn't very big, but it works for what we do. We have some regulars who come in every single day. They don't even have to say what they want anymore. The walls could use a fresh coat of paint maybe, but nobody seems to mind. We just focus on the work. Sometimes the rain floods the street a little near the bus stand entrance. We just put out some bricks or bags and keep going. Amritsar is a busy city, especially this part of it. You have to be quick or you get left behind. We don't have a big team, just a few of us making sure things run. It’s practical work. No one is wearing a suit here. We just wear what’s comfortable and get through the shift until it’s time to lock up and head home to rest for a few hours before it starts again.
