Sai Vaishno Dhaba

If you find yourself near Beri Gate in Amritsar, you’ll find us tucked away at 2253/55. We are quite close to Bhandari Hospital, which makes it easy for people to find us if they are in that part of the city. Being a Vaishno dhaba, we only do vegetarian food. It’s a small operation, really. The kitchen is the heart of the place, and it’s usually steaming with the smell of dal and fresh rotis. We don't have a big menu with hundreds of items. We just stick to the basics that people like to eat every day. The tables are simple, and the walls don't have much on them. It’s the kind of place where you just come in, eat your fill, and go about your day. We get a lot of locals who live around the gate and some people visiting the hospital too. Amritsar is a food city, so we know we have to just keep things honest. There’s no manager in a suit here, just us in our aprons. We wake up early to get the vegetables from the market and start the stoves. It can get quite hot in the summer, but the ceiling fans keep things moving. We’ve been at this for a while and we don’t plan on changing much. It’s just good, simple food for anyone who is hungry and passing by our door near the hospital. We just keep the pots boiling and the flour ready for the next batch of bread.
