Being on Batala Road means there is never a quiet moment. We are right near the mandir, so you can always hear what is going on outside. The restaurant has been here for a while and we’ve seen the road change quite a bit. It’s a bit of a trek for people coming from the other side of Amritsar, but the locals around here know us well. It gets really busy during the festivals because of the temple nearby. We usually have to shuffle the chairs around to make space for everyone. The walls could probably use a new coat of paint soon, but honestly, we haven't had the time to get to it. Some of the staff have been with us since the start. It’s a noisy place, especially in the evenings when the traffic picks up. We don’t really do much advertising or anything, mostly people just see the sign while they’re stuck in traffic. Sometimes the kitchen gets a bit chaotic when three groups walk in at once, but we manage somehow. It’s just how a small family business goes. You learn to deal with the rush. The weather in Amritsar gets so cold in winter and then boiling hot, so we’re always messing with the AC or the heaters. It’s just a normal spot for a meal without any of that extra stuff you see in the big fancy hotels.
