Raju Baba , Tarlochan Lalli Punjabi Dhaba

Our place is a bit tucked away in Guru Govind Singh Nagar. We are at House Number 16 and 17 in Gali Number 2. This is over by Gilwali Gate in Amritsar. It’s a traditional Punjabi Dhaba. We go by the names Raju Baba and Tarlochan Lalli. The street is narrow, so if you're driving a big car, it might be a bit of a squeeze. Most people just walk or come on scooters. We have been in these two houses for a long time. It’s a local neighborhood and everyone knows everyone else. You can hear the sounds of the city from the gate. We don't have a lot of space, but we make it work with what we have. The kitchen is always busy and the smell of the tandoor is everywhere. It’s 143001 if you're looking it up on a phone. We aren't trying to be a five-star hotel. We just serve the food people like to eat. The walls could probably use a fresh coat of paint, but we haven't gotten around to it yet. Some days we have a lot of people sitting outside on stools. It gets quite lively in the evenings when the sun goes down and the air cools off a bit. We just do our work and go home. If you are near Gilwali Gate, just ask for Gali Number 2 and someone will point you to us. We have been here for years.
