Andrew Restaurant

Andrew Restaurant is located in the Thanghuta Building right on the Bawngkawn Main Road. Aizawl is a hilly place so being right on the main road means we see a lot of the city moving past our doors every day. We are pretty much across from where the Maharashtra area starts in Bawngkawn, so it is an easy landmark for people to find if they are heading through this part of town. The building itself has been around for a while and we have our space set up inside. It can get quite foggy or rainy here in Aizawl, and on those days the restaurant feels like a good place to duck out of the weather. We don’t have any big corporate signs or anything, just the name on the front. Being in Bawngkawn means we get a mix of locals and people just passing through on their way to other parts of Mizoram. The traffic on the main road is almost constant from early morning until the evening. We spend our time mostly in the back or greeting people who walk in off the street. It is a simple life running a place like this. We keep the tables wiped down and the kitchen busy. There isn’t much more to it than showing up and doing the work. We’ve become a small part of the daily routine for the people living in the Thanghuta Building and the houses nearby.
