Shakti Time Center

Our shop, Shakti Time Center, is situated at 83-A in Nehru Bazar. It is one of those narrow shops that you find in the older markets here. We have shelves packed with small boxes and spare parts. Nehru Bazar gets extremely crowded, especially in the late afternoon. Sometimes it is hard for people to walk through the lane without bumping into each other. We mostly stay inside and focus on the work on our table. We have seen many shops come and go, but we have stayed at 83-A for quite a few years now. The walls are a bit faded and could use some new paint, but we are usually too busy to bother with that. We work on everything from big wall clocks to tiny wristwatches. Some are very old family pieces that haven't ticked in a long time. We try to get them going again using our old tools. They still work better than the new ones sometimes. We don't have any bright neon signs or big displays. Just a glass case with some straps and a few watches for sale. It is a quiet kind of work in a very loud part of town. Often, a customer will sit on the bench and talk about their day while we replace a pin or a cell. It makes the time go by faster. We like being part of this market.
