Hind Watch & Electro Repairs

Being near the Bata Showroom here in Surajpole means we get a lot of foot traffic passing by our front window. Our shop at number 84 is a bit of a mix of things. At Hind Watch & Electro Repairs, we don’t just stick to one thing. You’ll see watches on one side and then maybe some old transistors or small electrical gadgets on the other. It’s a bit messy, I’ll admit that. There are wires and watch parts and little plastic containers for screws everywhere you look. My father started this and I just sort of kept it going the same way he did. We don't have those fancy modern displays. The shelves are made of wood and they've bowed a little over time from the weight of all the stuff we keep on them. Sometimes a customer comes in looking for a specific bulb or a battery for an old wall clock, and it takes me a minute to remember which drawer I put it in. The Surajpole area is always loud, so you get used to the horns and the shouting outside. I like the variety of work. Fixing a watch takes a lot of patience and steady hands, while the electrical side is more about figuring out where a connection went bad. It’s just honest work that needs doing, and we’ve been doing it right here for a long time now without making a big deal of it.
