The shop is right on Ashwani Marg, not too far from the Kalika Mata Mandir. If you are walking around Chamanpura in Udaipur, you probably passed us. We have been doing this for a long time, mostly fixing up mobiles and watches that people bring in when they stop working. It’s a messy job sometimes with all those tiny screws and parts that like to roll off the table. My eyes aren't as good as they used to be, but I still get the job done. We see a lot of people coming from the temple or just passing through the neighborhood. The heat in Rajasthan can be a bit much in the afternoons, so we usually have the fan going full blast. It’s not a big place, just enough room for the counters and a few chairs for people to sit while they wait. Sometimes a repair takes longer than we thought because parts are hard to find for the older watch models. We just tell it like it is. No point in making things sound better than they are. Most of the day is just spent peering through a magnifying glass or poking at a phone screen with a plastic tool. It’s quiet work until the traffic picks up outside. We like being in this part of Udaipur. It feels like home after all these years of sitting behind this same glass counter. People know us and we know them.
