Our shop is at number 49 on Jagdish Marg. Being so close to Jagdish Mandir means there is always a lot of noise and people walking by. Krishna Watch Service has been here for a long time. My father handled the tools before me, and now I do it. It’s a narrow space, mostly filled with old clocks on the walls and boxes of tiny screws. I don't really do much advertising. People usually find us because they were visiting the temple and remembered their watch was acting up. The bells from the mandir ring throughout the day, which is a nice rhythm to work to. I spend most of my time looking through a magnifying glass. It’s quiet work in a loud neighborhood. Sometimes the kids from the street come in to ask the time, even though there are clocks everywhere. I fix all sorts of things, not just expensive ones. If a cheap watch stops, it still matters to the person wearing it, so I try to get it running again. The workbench is a bit messy, I’ll admit that. There are springs and glass faces everywhere. But I know where everything is. Jagdish Marg is always busy, so if you come by, you might have to dodge a few rickshaws. We don't have any big signs, just the name above the door. It's enough for the locals and whoever happens to be passing through the gate.
