Pawan Watch Service is right at the Malla Talai Choraha. If you know that intersection, you know it’s always moving. I’ve been working out of this spot for a while now. The dust from the road is a bit of a constant battle, but we keep the display cases wiped down as best as we can. It’s a handy location because people pass by on their way to work or home. They drop off a watch in the morning and often pick it up the next day. I do the repairs myself at a small table in the corner. It's nothing fancy, just a wooden stool and some tweezers. I learned the trade from an uncle. Malla Talai is a good neighborhood, and we get all kinds of customers. Some are in a big hurry, and others want to stay and chat while I change a battery. I don't mind either way. The traffic noise outside is just part of the day now. I don't even hear the horns anymore. My hands are usually a bit stained from the oil and the metal, but that's part of the job. We have a lot of regular customers from around the crossroads. They know where I sit. If I’m not at the bench, I’m probably just grabbing a tea next door. The shop isn't much to look at, but we get the job done. I usually keep a few spare straps around just in case.
