The name Chinai-Shah- Ranadive Associates is associated with Fort in Mumbai, but you’ll find our actual working spot at 704/A, Shankeshwar Palace. This is at the Chikanghar end of Rambaug-4 in Kalyan West. Living and working in the Thane district means dealing with the local trains every single day. It’s a long journey for some of us, but that’s just life here. The office is inside a residential-style building, which makes it feel a bit more relaxed than a cold glass tower in the city center. We have a view of the surrounding area from the seventh floor. The pin code is 421301, and we see plenty of couriers coming in and out with that address on their envelopes. We don’t have a big corporate culture. Instead, we have a small group of people who have worked together for a while. We know who likes their tea strong and who prefers to work in silence. The desks are covered in papers, and there’s always a calendar on the wall marked up with different dates. We don’t use much marketing talk because we don’t see the point in it. Our work is what it is, and we do it from this corner of Kalyan. It’s a lot of sitting, a lot of phone calls, and the occasional walk down the street to grab a bite to eat. It’s a very normal, honest way to spend the work week.
