B H Architect

Working from the 10th floor here in Flat No 1001 gives us a pretty good view, though honestly, we spend most of our time looking at our desks. B H Architect is a small setup, and we’ve made this space work for everything we need. It’s a bit tight sometimes when we have a lot of big blueprints spread out, but we manage. We aren't a big firm with layers of management. If you call, you’re usually talking to the person who is actually drawing your project. There are days when the printer acts up and we all have to stop and fix it, which is just part of the reality of running a local office. We focus on getting the drawings done and making sure the math adds up. There’s a lot of tea and coffee consumed here, especially when we’re trying to finish a set of plans for a client who needs them by tomorrow. We have shelves full of old binders and reference books that have been around for years. The atmosphere is pretty relaxed, even when things are busy. We don't have a dress code or anything like that. We just show up, do the work, and try to keep things moving forward. It’s a practical way to run a business, and being up on the 10th floor keeps us away from the street noise, which helps us stay focused on the task at hand.
