Parshwanath

Parshwanath is located at A-183 in the Phase-I part of Okhla Industrial Area. Being in an industrial zone means there is always the sound of trucks reversing and the smell of grease and metal in the air. Our unit is a solid building with high ceilings and heavy doors that we keep open for ventilation during the day. The floor is stained with oil and marks from where the machinery used to sit. We spend our time managing the flow of goods coming in and out of the gate. It’s a lot of physical work, and our hands are rarely clean by the end of the shift. We have a small corner with a couple of desks for the billing and the logs, but most of the action happens on the main floor. The light is a bit dim in the back, so we have to use torches sometimes to find specific items in the racks. We don't have a cafeteria, so we all go to the local stalls for a quick bite at noon. The traffic in Phase-I is legendary, so we try to get our loading done early in the morning to avoid the gridlock. It’s a tough environment, but there’s a sense of community among the workers in this block. We just keep our heads down and make sure the day's targets are met before we lock up the shutters for the night.
