Anandvan Rasoi

Anandvan Rasoi is located on Devli road in Khanpur, right across from Juneja’s kitchen. We’ve been in this part of Delhi for a while now. It’s a pretty busy area, especially when the evening traffic starts picking up and everyone is heading home. Our kitchen is simple. We don't have fancy equipment or a big team of chefs in tall hats. It’s just a few of us back there making food that we’d eat ourselves. The space inside isn't very large, so most people just grab their food and head out, though we do have a couple of tables if you don't mind the squeeze. We try to get our ingredients from the local markets nearby every morning. It's a lot of work carrying everything back, but it's worth it for the taste. Sometimes we get a bit behind when it’s raining or when the power goes out, which happens more than we’d like in this neighborhood. We don't have a big advertising budget or anything. Most people find out about us because they live nearby or saw the sign while walking to the bus stop. We keep the place as clean as possible, even with the Delhi dust coming in through the door. It’s an honest little spot. We just focus on getting the spices right and making sure the food is hot when it reaches you. Nothing too complicated about it, really. It's just us cooking for the neighborhood.
