Aurum Indian Fine Dining

Our place, Aurum, is located at shop number 22 in the Main Market of Defence Colony, Delhi. We are pretty close to the State Bank of Patiala branch here. Def Col is a neighborhood that has a lot of history and people who have lived here for decades. We fit into that by serving Indian food that isn't trying too hard to be something else. The kitchen is where the real work happens every day. We start early in the morning getting the masalas ready. The market gets quite crowded in the evenings, so parking can be a bit of a headache for our visitors. We just focus on what’s happening inside our walls. It’s not a massive space, but we’ve arranged it so people feel comfortable. We don't use a lot of fancy words to describe what we do. It’s just cooking food that we grew up eating. The staff is mostly local guys who have been with us since we opened. We see a lot of families coming in on Sundays, which is always our busiest time. Sometimes we run out of certain items because we only buy enough fresh ingredients for the day. That’s just how we prefer to run things. We keep the floor clean and the plates warm. If you are walking through the Main Market, you’ll find us easily enough near the bank. We just do our best to keep things moving.
