Metro Delhi International School

We are up on the first floor of the YMCA building here in Nizamuddin East. You can find us right on Rahim Khan Marg. It’s a busy spot but once you get upstairs, it feels a bit different. We’ve been here for a while now. The hallways get pretty loud when the bells ring and students are rushing between classes. Some of us have been working here for years and we know the shortcuts through the neighborhood. Nizamuddin has a lot of history and you can feel that when you walk around outside during lunch. Our rooms aren’t fancy or anything, just normal classrooms with desks and whiteboards that get used all day. There’s always someone at the front desk trying to figure out a schedule or talking to a parent who dropped by. We drink a lot of chai in the staff room between periods. It’s mostly just a place where kids come to learn their subjects and hang out with their friends. The walk from the main road can be a bit dusty in the summer, but it’s what we’re used to. We keep things running the way they’ve always gone, focusing on the books and the lessons. It’s not a huge place, just a decent-sized school tucked away in this part of Delhi. You might see us walking to the nearby shops after work to grab some snacks. It’s just our daily life here on the first floor.
