Ichiban Restaurant

We have been here at Shop Number 9 in Pandara Road Market for quite a long time now. People know this area well because it is right near India Gate. Our spot is just one of the many small places tucked into this part of Delhi. Every morning, we open up the shutters and get things ready for whoever walks in. It is usually a mix of regulars and people just passing through the market area. The Pandara Road Market has its own rhythm, and we are just a small part of that daily cycle. It is not a very fancy setup, just some tables and chairs where you can sit down. Most days it gets busy around lunch and dinner, which keeps us on our toes. We don’t really do much advertising or anything like that. People find us because they are already walking around the market or maybe a friend told them where we are. Dealing with the Delhi heat and the crowds is just part of the job. We try to keep things simple and just focus on getting the food out to the tables without too much fuss. Sometimes the power goes out or the street gets too crowded, but that is just how things go around here. We have seen the market change over the years, but our little corner remains pretty much the same. It is just us here, working every day and making sure things are running okay for the next person who walks through.
