G.B. Pant Gov. Engineering College

G.B. Pant Gov. Engineering College sits right in the middle of Okhla Ind. Area Phase-3. Since it’s an industrial zone, you hear the sounds of trucks and factories all day long. It isn't the prettiest location, but it is practical for an engineering school to be near all that industry. The campus consists of several blocks that have seen better days, but they serve their purpose well enough. We have a lot of workshops where students get their hands dirty with machines and tools. The walk from the main gate to the offices is a bit long, especially when it’s hot outside. There are some trees scattered around that provide a little shade during the lunch break. Inside, the halls are wide and usually echo with the sound of students chatting. We don’t have anything too luxurious here. It’s a government-run spot, so things move at their own pace and there’s always some form to fill out. The library is a quiet corner where people hide away to study for their finals. Most of the staff are local people who know how to navigate the chaos of Okhla. It’s a tough, working-class kind of atmosphere. We just get on with the job of educating whoever walks through the doors. It can be a bit dusty because of all the construction nearby, but we manage. It’s a place that works hard and doesn't ask for much.
