We’ve been here at E-168 in Lajpat Nagar-I for quite a while now. Most people around here know us as A. K. Dyeing. It’s not a fancy place, just a workspace where we get things done. We spend most of our days working with colors and fabrics, trying to get the shades right for whoever walks in. Sometimes the shop gets a bit messy with all the vats and drying lines, but that's just how a dyeing business works. We deal with all sorts of clothes, from old suits that need a refresh to new pieces of cloth. My father started things out, and I just kept it going because it’s what I know. Lajpat Nagar is always busy, so there’s always someone coming by with a dupatta or a shirt. We don’t have any big machines or anything, it’s mostly hand work and watching the temperature of the water. On rainy days, it’s a bit of a struggle to get everything dry, but we manage. People come in, drop their stuff, and we tell them when to come back. It isn’t complicated. We just focus on the colors. The neighborhood has changed a lot over the years, but we’re still here at the same spot. We open up in the morning, check the orders, and start heating the pots. It’s steady work. Nothing more to it than that. We don't have a website or anything. You just walk in and talk to us.
