St. Xavier'S English Medium School Jatara

This school is situated in Kaloor Land, which is in the village of Guddekoppa. It’s a bit of a remote spot in the Hosanagara area of Shimoga. Because we are out in the countryside, the school feels very different from those in the big cities. We have a lot of open space around us, and the air is much fresher. The school itself is a simple English medium setup. We don’t have much in the way of fancy facilities, but we have enough classrooms for the kids who come in from the surrounding villages. Most of the students travel a bit of a distance to get here, so the mornings are always busy with kids arriving on foot or by local transport. We’ve been here for quite a while now, and we’ve seen the village change slowly over time. Our focus is just on giving these kids a basic education so they can have more options later on. The teachers are dedicated people who don't mind the quiet life out here in Hosanagara. Sometimes when it rains heavily, the roads get a bit difficult, but we usually manage to keep the school running. It’s an unpretentious place. We don't go in for big celebrations or polished events. We just have our daily lessons and the usual school activities. It’s a quiet, honest way to run a school in a place like Guddekoppa. We just do our work and go home.
