Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya

This school is out here in Balehonnur, near the Dheve Godu area of Koppa Taluk. It's a quiet spot in Chikmagalur. We’ve been running things for quite a while now. The mornings usually start early with the birds and the mist from the hills. Most of the kids live here on campus because it’s a residential setup. It keeps us busy, looking after everyone from breakfast until lights out. The building isn't fancy or anything, just standard classrooms and dorms that have seen a lot of use over the years. We spend a lot of time outside because the weather here is mostly good, though it gets very wet during the monsoon. The staff lives on the grounds too, so it feels like a small village of its own. We try to keep the grounds tidy, but with so many students running around, there’s always a bit of a mess somewhere. Life here is mostly about the books and the playground. We don't have all those modern gadgets you see in city schools, but we make do with what we have. It’s a lot of work managing the dining hall and making sure the water supply stays steady. People in the local area know us well. We just go about our days, teaching the classes and making sure the kids have what they need for their studies and their stay. It’s a simple life, really.
