SANTUSHTI FRIEND & FAMILY RASTURENT

Up here in Shimla, at Deep Kunj in Kasumpti, you will find our restaurant. We are right by the RVK School, so we hear the kids during the day. Shimla weather can be a bit cold, so we try to keep the inside feeling okay for people coming in from the wind. We called it a friend and family restaurant because that is usually who walks through the door. It is a local place in the REE area. We don't have a big staff, just a few of us making sure things get done. The tables are pushed together sometimes when a big group comes in after school or work. We don't use a lot of fancy words to describe what we do. We just cook and serve. The hills around Kasumpti make for a nice walk, and we are a good place to stop when you are tired of walking up and down. We keep the windows clean so you can see out, but the focus is usually on the plates. We don't have a corporate office or anything like that. It is just this one spot. We spend our time checking the stock and making sure the kitchen is ready for the next meal. It is a quiet life for the most part, except when the school lets out. We just keep the door open for whoever needs a seat and a meal. The staff mostly consists of people who live right here in Shimla.
