Baljees Restaurant

Baljees Restaurant is situated at 26, The Mall. The postcode is 171001. We have been part of the Shimla landscape for quite some time now. Being on The Mall means we are right where the action is, though it can get a bit crowded during the summer months when everyone comes up from the plains to escape the heat. Our spot is pretty simple. We don't have a lot of bells and whistles. It’s just a place to eat and rest your legs for a while. I spend most of my time making sure everything is running okay. The building itself has a lot of history, being in such an old part of town. We see all kinds of people, from students to elderly couples who have lived in Shimla their whole lives. We don't really do much advertising; people just seem to find us because of the location. It's a lot of work keeping up with the demands of a busy street like this. Sometimes it's hard to get supplies up here because of the traffic rules on The Mall, but we manage. We just keep the doors open and do our best to stay organized. It isn't a perfect science, but it works for us. We are just a local business trying to keep going in a beautiful part of the world. That's about all there is to it, really. Just hard work and making sure we're here when people need us.
