China Moon Restaurant

China Moon Restaurant is in the main market of Sanjauli in Shimla. It is a very lively area with lots of shops and people moving about. We are located right in the middle of it all. Shimla has a lot of hills, so even getting to the market can be a bit of a walk for some people. Our restaurant is a simple place. We have some wooden tables and chairs. When it is cold outside, which happens a lot here, the kitchen heat makes the whole room feel warm and nice. We don't have any fancy heating systems. We just rely on the stoves. We have been in Sanjauli for many years now. We know most of the shopkeepers around us. We buy our tea leaves and vegetables from the other stalls in the market. It is a small community. We don't have a big corporate structure. It is just a family-run kind of place. Sometimes the mist comes into the shop when the door opens. We don't have a big menu. We just cook what we know how to make well. We don't do any marketing or advertisements. People find us because they are walking through the market and smell the food. We stay open as long as there are people around. It is a quiet way to earn a living up here in the mountains and we like it that way.
