Royale Oaks Restaurant

We’ve been here at Circular Road in Shimla for quite a while now. Being part of the Royale Oaks Hotel means we see a lot of people coming through, mostly tourists looking for a place to sit after walking around the hills. Shimla gets pretty cold, so the restaurant is usually a warm spot for folks to grab a bite. We are right in the Longwood area, which is a bit quieter than the main Mall Road, though still busy enough during the season. Usually, the mornings start early with breakfast for the guests staying upstairs. It’s a lot of work keeping things running, especially when the weather turns and the roads get tricky. We just try to keep the tables clean and the food ready. Most of our staff have been around the area for years. We aren't doing anything fancy, just running a kitchen and making sure people have a chair. You can find us easily if you know the hotel. It’s just how things go here in the mountains. Some days are packed and other days it’s just the locals stopping by for a quick tea or something. We don't really have a big team, just a few of us making sure things don't get too messy. The location is good because you can walk from most parts of town. It’s just a normal place to eat. It gets a bit hectic during the summer holidays, but we manage somehow. We like the view from the windows when the mist rolls in.
