New Green Rajpoot Dhaba

If you are walking through Ram Bazar in Shimla, you will find us near the Ram Mandir Dharamshala. We are also quite close to the main bus stand, so we get a lot of travelers coming in with their bags and coats. Being a dhaba, we keep things very simple and practical. It’s mostly wooden tables and benches where people can sit down and get a warm meal quickly. Shimla gets very cold in the winter months, so the kitchen is always the warmest place to be in the whole building. We start very early in the morning to get things ready for the people catching the early buses. It’s a busy spot and sometimes it gets a bit crowded with everyone trying to find a seat at the same time. We don't have a lot of space for fancy decorations. The walls could probably use a fresh coat of paint, but we are much more focused on the cooking than the looks. You can hear the noise from the market and the buses honking nearby all day long. It’s just part of being in this busy part of town. Most of our customers are locals who work in the market or tourists who just stepped off a bus and need to eat. We serve what we have on the menu for that day. Sometimes we run out of certain items by the evening. That’s just how it is when you’re running a small place like this in the middle of a market.
