Nalini Restaurant

We are right on The Mall in Shimla East, which is a place most people know if they spend any time in this city. Being on Mall Road means we see a lot of tourists and locals walking past our door every single day. The view around here is nice, especially when the weather is clear, but we’re usually too busy in the kitchen to look out the window much. It’s an old building, like most of Shimla, so it has that bit of character and maybe a few drafts when the wind blows hard. We keep the place simple inside. We’ve got tables and chairs that have seen a lot of use over the years. We aren't a high-end place with white tablecloths. We’re just a restaurant where you can sit down and get out of the cold for a bit. The staff is local and we’ve been working together for quite some time. We start our day early to get things prepped before the main crowd starts wandering up the hill. Sometimes it gets really crowded in the evenings, and the wait might be a little long, but we do our best. We don't have a big philosophy or anything. We just cook the food, serve it, and keep the place running. It’s a hard job but we enjoy being part of the life on Mall Road. It gets cold at night but we stay warm inside.
