Delhi Public School

Delhi Public School in Bardhaman is found at 105, P C Mitra Lane. This part of the town has a lot of history, and the lane itself is quite typical for the Burdwan Ho area. The school sits behind a set of large gates that keep the bustle of the street out. Once you are inside, it’s a fairly large campus for being in such an old part of the city. We have several wings and a playground that gets very busy during the morning assembly. The teachers here are usually busy carrying stacks of notebooks across the courtyard. It is an old-fashioned kind of place where the bell is rung by hand and everyone knows the schedule by heart. We try to keep the garden areas neat, but with so many students running around, the grass doesn't always stay green. The classrooms have high ceilings and large windows that let in the light, which is helpful during the winter months. We don't use a lot of fancy words to describe what we do. It is mostly just about making sure the students are in their seats and the lessons are being taught. People in the neighborhood know us well because we’ve been here at this address for a long time. It’s just a regular part of the daily life in Bardhaman for many families.
