Nepali Para Hindi High School

Our school, Nepali Para Hindi High School, is situated in the industrial part of Durgapur, specifically near Garage More. Being close to the Durgapur Railway Station means it’s always busy around here. You can hear the trains sometimes if the wind is right. We’ve been serving the families in the Nepali Para area for quite some time now. It’s a Hindi medium school, so we get a lot of students from the surrounding labor colonies and residential pockets. The building is an old one, with tall ceilings and long hallways that stay cool even in the summer heat. We don't have a lot of bells and whistles. It’s just rows of wooden benches, chalkboards, and teachers who know their subjects well. Most of our staff have been here for decades. We deal with the daily challenges of being in an industrial zone, like the dust and the noise, but the students are used to it. Life here revolves around the school bell. We open early and close once the last extra class is done. It isn't a polished corporate institution; it’s a local school where kids come to get an education so they can find good jobs later. We manage the sports field as best as we can and keep the library stocked with what we can find. It’s a practical place for practical people. The tea shop across the road is where we usually get our afternoon break. It's a humble spot but it works for us and the students.
