About Asansol North Point School – Education in Purba Bardhaman
Asansol North Point School. We are right on NH-2 in Jamuriahat. It’s a busy spot because of the highway. Most days start early here. The buses pull up and it gets loud for a while. We have been here in Asansol for some time now. The building is okay, we try to keep the paint fresh but the dust from the road makes it hard. Inside, it’s mostly just classrooms and the staff room where we drink tea. The kids come from all around Jamuriahat. Some walk, some take the rickshaw. We teach the usual subjects. There is no big fancy auditorium or anything, just a courtyard where they stand for prayers. Sometimes the electricity goes out and we just open the windows wider. It’s a normal school. Nothing too flashy. We have a small playground in the back. It’s not perfectly green, mostly dirt, but the children don't mind when they are playing football. Our desks are old wood, some have names carved into them from years ago. We don't spend much on ads. People just know us because we’ve been at this address for a while. Every year some students leave and new ones come in. It’s the same cycle. We just try to get through the syllabus and make sure they learn something before the final exams start in March. That's pretty much what goes on here at our place in Asansol. We hope the students enjoy their time here even if the chairs are a bit hard.
