Mahata High School

Mahata High School is located right in Mahata, which is part of the Bardhaman area. It’s a place that feels very connected to the ground. The school has a large open space where the students gather for the morning assembly under the sun. We have a collection of buildings that have been added to over the years, so they don't all look the same. Some are older with thick walls, and some are a bit newer. We don't have a big fancy entrance. Most people arrive on bicycles, and we have a long row of them parked along the fence. The teachers often sit outside during their breaks if the weather is nice. We deal with the usual stuff like broken windows, muddy paths after the rain, and making sure the mid-day meals are ready on time. There’s nothing polished about us. We’re just a group of people working in a rural high school. The sounds of the village are always in the background, from the birds to the distant tractors. We don't use marketing slogans because everyone in Bardhaman already knows who we are. We just open up, teach the classes, and go home like everyone else. It’s a slow-paced life compared to the big cities, but there’s always plenty to do. We take things one day at a time and do the work to keep the school running smoothly for the local kids.
