Vidhi Exports

Vidhi Exports is tucked away in F/9, Bhangwadi, right off Kalbadevi Road. If you know Mumbai, you know how crowded it gets here. The lanes are so narrow that two people can barely walk side by side when the handcarts are passing. Our office is small and filled with samples from floor to ceiling. It’s hard to find a place to sit sometimes. We spend a lot of time on the phone or running down to the post office. The building is quite old, and the elevator is always temperamental, so we usually just take the stairs. It gets very humid, and the walls are a bit damp during the rains. We don't have a marketing department or anyone to write fancy brochures for us. It's just us handling the export papers and making sure the goods get to the port on time. Sometimes the traffic in Kalbadevi is so bad that a delivery that should take ten minutes takes an hour. We just have to plan around it. We’ve been here for a long time, and we know all the other shopkeepers around. It’s a loud, cramped place to work, but it’s where all the business happens in this city. It’s a long day for all of us.
