Our shop is tucked away on 1st Main in Goregaon East. If you’re looking for number 6, you might miss it if you’re driving too fast. It’s mostly just me and a couple of other guys working with our hands all day. There’s always sawdust on the floor and the smell of glue or polish in the air. We didn't really plan on opening a proper business, it just kind of happened because we liked making things. Most of our tools are pretty old now, but they still work better than the new plastic stuff you see everywhere. It gets a bit cramped in here when we have a few projects going at once. We don't have a big display window or anything fancy like that. Usually, there are just pieces of wood or half-finished items leaning against the walls. People stop by to ask if we can fix something or make a small stool, and we usually say yes if we have the time. The rain gets a bit annoying during the monsoon because the wood takes longer to dry, which slows everything down. We aren't trying to be some big brand or anything. We just like the work. It’s quiet back here away from the main traffic, which is nice for focusing on the details. Sometimes we lose track of time and stay way past closing just to get a joint or a finish exactly right. It isn't perfect, but it is honest work.
