Wooden Handicraft Store

Wooden Handicraft Store operates out of Flat No 1402 in Sector 20, over at Bhoomi Gardenia Road in Pali Kalamboli. It’s not your typical storefront on a main road. We use the space to keep our items and handle the day-to-day things. If you come by, you’ll see plenty of wood pieces in different stages of being finished. Some are just rough cuts while others are almost ready. We really like working with our hands. There is always a smell of sawdust and varnish in the air which we’ve gotten used to over time. It’s quiet up here compared to the street below. We spend a lot of time looking at grain patterns and trying to figure out what would look right. It’s a slow process sometimes. You can’t rush wood. We aren't a massive factory with assembly lines. It is mostly just us tucked away in this residential area making things we think people might like for their homes. Most of our neighbors know us for the occasional noise of a sander or a hammer. We try to keep the mess contained, but wood shavings have a way of getting everywhere. Living and working in Kalamboli has been good for us. The commute is short since we’re right here. People often ask why we chose a flat, but it works for what we do right now. It feels more like a home project that just grew bigger. We don't have a big marketing team or anything like that. We just focus on the wood.
